Seismologist
NORSAR is searching a seismologist for an initial 1-year position. Required qualifications are a PhD, preferably within seismology or related qualification and the ability to collaborate within an international team within several projects. Specific qualifications may include: programming skills, general understanding of elastic wave propagation, signal processing, inversion theory, seismic hazard and seismotectonics. The candidate is foreseen to work mostly on microearthquake monitoring challenges including data analysis and location problems. Knowledge within rock mechanics will also be valuable.
Preferred starting date: Early 2012.
