NORSAR Innovation AS develops and markets a number of unique software products that are used to optimize seismic acquisition and processing for both active and passive seismic. The products are used by leading oil and gas companies worldwide. In addition, we perform expert services based on our software. The products are supported by experienced sales, service and support teams from our head office in Norway and through a global network of representatives.

NORSAR Innovation AS has an increasing workload and needs to strengthen the business with a Principal or Senior Research Geophysicist (depending on qualifications and experience).

The new person will be able to participate in the entire value chain, from the development of new products to sales and services.

Responsibilities and important tasks will be

  • Lead service projects in seismic modelling and microseismics
  • Drive technical sales and targeted marketing where our technology has advantages
  • Have customer meetings on your own and be able to present our technology
  • Create relevant case studies and material
  • Quality assurance of projects
  • Present at conferences and workshops, publish papers
  • Provide both geophysical and general support
  • Monitor competitors and trends in the market
  • Participate in further development of the products

Qualifications

  • Master's degree or higher in geophysics, microseismics, geology or related fields
  • Solid experience in similar areas, preferably within oil and gas
  • Experience with service and concept development
  • Experience with customers and partners
  • Fluent in spoken and written English, and a command of Norwegian is an advantage
  • An outgoing and cooperative personality
