Compliance

NORSAR has zero tolerance for corruption, other forms of financial fraud and human rights violations. We are actively working to ensure that the company's operations and ongoing projects are compliant with applicable laws and regulations. NORSAR engages in partnerships with enterprises across various countries and exercises conscious consideration of the associated risks. We require that all our suppliers, agents, and partners uphold a zero-tolerance policy for corruption, financial misconduct, and human rights violations. Adherence to compliance is a cornerstone of our guidelines.

The Transparency Act

The purpose of the Norwegian Transparency Act is to ensure enterprises’ transparency and commitment to fundamental human rights and acceptable working conditions. The Act entered into force in July 2022. Comprehensive information is available from the Norwegian Consumer Authority.

Our work on the Transparency Act is included in the NORSAR Foundation’s management system. All employees have been informed and are contributing to ensuring our compliance. When choosing suppliers, priority is given to those who can confirm through signature that they adhere to our requirements for ethical and decent operations and acceptable working conditions.

Equality and inclusion

Everyone who works at NORSAR has equal opportunities regardless of gender, ethnicity, religion, age, function ability, sexual preference, political views, and cultural background. We believe that an inclusive working environment gives a competitive advantage and is a criterion for well-being. A working environment characterized by diversity and equal opportunities provides a foundation for innovation and achievement of our objectives.

NORSAR has implemented a gender equality plan (GEP) in accordance with the criteria of Horizon Europe. The GEP has been in effect from January 1st, 2022. The NORSAR GEP is a dynamic and useful tool which makes work towards equality a natural part of our daily management, research and innovation activities.

NORSAR considers it valuable to have a spotlight on the requirements from the EU Commission and to focus on gender balance in research and innovation activities. NORSARs Gender equality plan will be a dynamic and useful contribution that will make gender equality work as a natural part of our daily management, research and innovation activities.

NORSAR is subject to the Gender Equality and Discrimination Act, which requires all employers to work actively, purposefully and systematically to promote gender equality and prevent discrimination in the workplace. This Act was amended on 1 January 2020 to provide a more comprehensive description of organizations' obligations to conduct gender equality promotion and discrimination prevention activities, and to report on this annually. NORSAR's GEP will meet the new national legal requirements as well as the requirements from Horizon Europe's work program.
