NORSAR's IT manager Nils K Schøyen is in place and the installation is progressing quickly. The focus is now on the installation of the power station.
NORSAR's Morten og Ravn have completed a new milestone, the container with framework is built, and we are ready to start the installation of power generation.
NORSAR is one of 18 universities and research institutions that make up a consortium called the Arctic Ocean 2050. In the 2026 state budget, the Government has committed to funding research in the Arctic Ocean with NOK 1 billion over the next ten years.
NORSAR's engineers Ravn (26) and Morten (38) have travelled to Antarctica and Troll. They are going to establish a new station where NORSAR listens to the earth.
On Saturday, Ravn and Morten were able to start work on site for the new NORSAR station, approximately 50 minutes from Troll in Antarctica.
