NORSAR is establishing a new position as Business Controller. Also to ease the administrative burden for the researchers.

As a Business Controller at NORSAR, you will have overall responsibility for the financial monitoring of a broad portfolio of national and international research projects. The role is both strategic and operational, serving as an important link between researchers, management, and the CFO.

You will be a key contributor to improved financial management, more efficient processes, and reduced administrative burden for the researchers.

The position reports to the CFO, and once well established in the role, it may also involve acting as the CFO's deputy in reporting to senior management and the board.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Budgeting, forecasting and reporting to management and the board

  • Accounting follow-up and invoicing for both national and international projects

  • Financial project control from project initiation to final settlement

  • Financial reporting in accordance with contracts and funding agreements

  • Assisting researchers with contract management with national and international partners

  • Working with international agreements, currency issues and financial structures

  • Further development, streamlining and automation of financial processes

  • Active use and further development of the project management system (InstiPro)
