Broadband seismometer
In 2009, a three-component Guralp CMG-3E broadband seismometer was installed in a concrete pit on the lower part of the Åknes rockslope. It has been continuously recording data since then with sampling rates of 40 Hz and 200 Hz. The station is part of the NORSAR station network, and its data are accessible through standard FDSN and EIDA web services. The figure below shows only the short-period vertical component records for a chosen day and bandpass-filtered between 2 and 80 Hz..
On the 1st of June 2022, the pit was struck by a large rock block that damaged the instrument. We expect the station to be operational again during year 2023.
