NORSAR technology listed!
Today, the company Nordic Technology group (NTG) was listed on the stock exchange. This group includes Wavetrains Systems, which 12 years ago set itself the goal of making it safer to cross train tracks. Research and development from NORSAR has made this possible.
Wavetrains Systems owns and develops a warning system for passing unsecured crossings on railways. By listening for sound in the train tracks, the company will be able to determine when a train is approaching and alert lighting systems at the crossings. In 2010, NORSAR and Wavetrains Systems entered into an agreement that gives Wavetrains Systems exclusive rights to utilize the method for measuring acoustic wave propagation in train tracks. The technology, which is patent-protected in several countries, can be used to detect incoming trains. This technology makes it possible to detect lighter trains at a distance of 2,5 km and heavier trains at a distance of 5 km.
