NORSAR have a long standing relationship with AFTAC that was renewed recently during the yearly contractual follow up named 'Joint scientific commissions meeting'. The cooperation centers around developing more accurate detection technologies for the nuclear tests.

The program consisted of a few formalities, some social events, but mainly of scientific presentations and discussions within the field of detection technologies focusing on seismology. Stations operations under challenging conditions were also subject to exchange of experiences. It’s  impressive to see what our compact and excellent team can achieve when compared to a massive organization like AFTAC. AFTAC, which is short for Air Force Technical Applications Center, have a very proud history in shaping technology including what was needed to send a man to the moon!
